This country is situated in the southern part of the African continent, most of the interiors consist of high plains and the ocean that surrounded the country from three different side’s moderates the weather. Due to which the temperature remains warm. South Africa is also known for its warm sunshine and it somewhat a dry country. The rainy weather is most during the winters and that too in the Western Cape region. Other countries that are located in the same latitudes like Australia, South Africa mostly has a low temperature because of its located above the sea level. The average summer temperatures are 30 C/ 86 F and in winters the temperature falls below the freezing point. The warmest areas in winter are the coastal regions. There is a huge difference between the east and the west coast, as the warm Agulhas currents sweep the eastern coast and the cold Benguela sweep the western coast. The hottest month in Cape Town is Jan and the average high temp is 26 degrees C /78 F and the coldest month is July and the average low temp is 8.3 Degrees C/47 F. Durban summer temp in Jan is 28 C / 82.4 F and in winters the temp is 11C/51.8 F. similarly in Johannesburg the summer temp in Jan is 26C/78 F and in winters temp is 4 C/39 F in the month of July. This country is blessed by four main seasons and they are:

• Summers are mostly from mid – Oct to mid – Feb and are usually warm and sunny and few thunderstorms take place but clear quickly. The Western Cape has a Mediterranean type of climate and receives rainfalls in winters.

• Autumn is from mid – Feb to April and it get warm as this region receives very less rainfall but it is an ideal time for touring this country.

• Winters are mostly from May to July and the days are chilly and the nights are colder and it snows in the mountain region of the country.

• Spring lasts from Aug to mid – Oct and the weather is usually warm which attracts lot of tourists from all over the world who come and enjoy the flower festivals that take place in the western and northern cape.
